The Telrad sight is a non-magnifying sight to make star-hopping fun and easy. After a simple alignment process to ensure that it is perfectly lined up with your telescope and finderscope, the Telrad's intuitive "heads-up-display" of a lighted red reticle allows you to simply look through the glass window to see what the telescope is looking at. So when you point the Telrad at any object in the night sky (for example, a prominent star like Polaris or Vega) you know the telescope's eyepiece will be centered on that same object. Then as you explore the sky you can use the Telrad to help you find fainter Deep Sky Objects by referring to star charts that include the Telrad reticle printed to scale (the outer circle in the lighted red reticle covers 4 degrees of the sky, the middle circle covers 2 degrees, and the small inner circle covers 1/2 degree). And the built-in switch allows you to easily reduce the brightness of the projected reticle when looking at fainter stars or increase brightness for brighter objects. Requires 2 AA batteries (not included).

Optics Mart is a top-notch company and the Telrad is a great piece of equipment that takes the pain out of finding what you want to look at quickly. Just make sure the barrel of your OTA is long enough, (at least 8") to mount the Telrad onto.Value Quality Price - Must have!

This is my second Telrad finder, and I love them. I popped mine on in about 5 minutes, including taking off the original finder, so installation couldn't be any easier. The same goes for aligning it. It was almost lined up when I first aimed it at Jupiter. I turned two of the knurled adjusting knobs, and it was spot on. It's amazing how accurate this product is. When I aim it at an target, I can be assured that when I look through the eyepiece I will see exactly what I expected to. What's really a great feature is that your able to unscrew, by hand, two small knobs and remove the Telrad, and when you put it back on, it's still perfectly aligned. The inventor of this product deserves a lot of praise.Price Value Quality - Good product

I have been looking through all kinds of view finders in the past 20 years or so, and have been listening to other amateur astronomers rave about their Telrad. And it took this long for me to get my act together and buy one. The Telrad Reflex Finder is everything they all raved about. Now I don't know how I ever survived without it.Value Quality Price
Great product, I will join the rest of the astronomers and pass on the good word about your Telrad.
Thank you for enhancing my hobby,
David
