  • To use the HALO Setting Circle/Leveling Base, you simply set it on the ground with the Compass pointing North. Then you level the HALO using the leveling feet and integrated Bubble Level
  • Next, set your Dobsonian base in the HALO. At this point it doesn't matter what direction the upper portion of the base is rotated to
  • Align the feet on the bottom of your Dobsonian base with any of the six cutouts on the inner shelf of the HALO
  • Install your telescope in the Dobsonian base. Then rotate around to find Polaris (or another celestial body) and calibrate the HALO
  • After your observing session, simply lift your Dobsonian base out of the HALO
  • HALO's are custom made to fit specific Dobsonian bases. Before ordering, you should carefully measure the OUTSIDE diameter of your Dobsonian base (including the rubber bumper-edge) to ensure that your base matches other standard bases by your manufacture

This HALO fits Zhumell Z12 Dobsonian Telescopes which have a groundboard with a diameter of 25.1" (25-3/32"). Before ordering you should measure the diameter of your Dobsonian's groundboard (including the rubber bumper-edge) to ensure that your base matches other standard bases by your telescope's manufacturer. The HALO is a Setting Circle combined with a Leveling Base, that is used to set the Azimuth coordinates of a Dobsonian Telescope. Combined with a Digital Angle Gauge (sold separately), the HALO makes finding exciting celestial objects easy and FUN! HALO's are machined from Extira, a proprietary composite wood product that is strong, light, and virtually weatherproof. They are capable of supporting several times the weight of the Dobsonian Telescopes they are designed to support
