It is a Keeper!

First of all, I could kick myself for not doing this 30 years ago. My Starbound Chair arrived yester one day after I ordered it. It's condition upon arrival was pristine. I had it out last night with my telescope (seeing was about a 6/10) and was very happily surprised about how well it DOES WORK. It is very easy to set up and take down. It is especially good for seeing objects directly overhead if you have an apo or a mak (I have a mak) without strain since it will go as low as you need to go. It is also solid as a rock when seated.
If you shop around as I did (I'm Scottish), the price is well within reason. This chair is easily a 5!
Happy star gazing...
A fine addition to your star-outings!

When I purchased my Apertura 10" DOB, I really wasn't considering buying an astronomy-related product such as this fine chair. I figured that I would just use a lesser expensive alternative, such as building one, or buying a fabric folding one. Well, I'm happy I DID buy this chair! I love the collapsible design, as well as the 'over-stuffed' pad. It's easy to adjust, and very portable. It is more than able to accommodate both light and 'not-so-light' users! Heavy-gauge metal tubing and durably finished, I am so glad I purchased it. You will be too!
My back and neck thank you..

If you're going to be using a Dobsonian mounted reflector telescope you really need something like this chair to be able to really enjoy scanning the heavens for more than just a few minutes at a time. Bending over to look through the eyepiece can become tiring pretty quickly.

The ability to quickly change the angle of the Dobsonian to view different objects is what makes it fun to use. And to be able to very easily adjust the height of this nicely padded chair to sit comfortably while you look through the eyepiece no matter what height it is you're viewing is really what you need to be able to fully enjoy using the telescope.

Plus this one folds up nicely to carry easily. The low price and free shipping make it a no brainer...
Excellent chair

I have two of this model. They are the best. I keep one in Mexico at our townhouse where the sky's are dark and one at my home. The price was the best I could find and it arrived very quickly. I highly recommend this company.
Love my observing chair!

The Starbound Observing Chair is a great addition to my astronomy gear. It allows comfortable observing at any angle...no more kneeling and craning - saving your knees and neck!
It's portable and I am always glad I have it with me atop 10,000 foot Haleakala on dark, still and clear nights when observing the night sky for hour after hour...I am very happy with my chair and so are all of my Haleakala Amateur Astronomer astro pals who love their Starbound Observing Chairs as well.
